He was married to Martha Jones in Aug 1827 in Spencer Co., IN. I have been unable to find information on his parents or where in KY he was from. Tom Sparkman Lee, FL

I am seeking information on Mary "Polly" CALLAWAY and her husband, Dr. Daniel BROWN, both lived in BEDFORD COUNTY, VA mid to late 1700's. I have her dates as 1759-1831; his as 1748-1796. I need to identify his ancestors. One record states he was the son of Henry BROWN who was the son of WILLIAM BROWN. Does anyone have any information that they might share on this family? By starting with the number one person as yourself, you will then show both mother and father lines on the same pedigree chart. Lana in Alabama, USA
Does anyone know of any resource (book, website, etc.) that has detailed instructions regarding family tree structure? For instance, how to deal with divorces, multiple marriages, etc. and more than one "line" on a tree (for instance, I'd like to branch off of both my father and my mother, and both of their parents, etc. if possible on the same tree). Thanks for any suggestions, Kim Braun braunkim@hotmail.com

If he was 23 in 1860 that would make him 43 in 1880, not 57. If this is the same family and you have a typo for the age, then Claburn more than likely has left home at the time of the 1880 census. Sorry I can't help more. BB
Does anyone know anything about a Elija Brown and family that was found on the 1850 Lauderdale Co., AL census? He is 40 years old. Also listed is Eliza (21 yrs ), Samuel (19 yrs), Elizabeth (13 yrs), Rufus (9 yrs), and Newton (5 yrs). This census shows everyone born in TN except Newton and he was born in AL. I have reason to believe that this Elija could be my g-g-grandfather and Newton could be my g-grandfather although I had previously believed that Newton and his parents were born in MS. Mike Chapman
Hello , looking for information on William McConnell and Temperence Brown McConnell of Crittenden Co., Kentucky, possibly if they had a son named William Born ca 1832 in N.C. or Tenn.?. Thanks, Carol
Hello. This soldier enlisted Nov 6, 1862 in Co B of the Civil War regiment 4th Tennessee Cavalry. At that time he was described as follows: age 27, 6' tall, dark complexion, black eyes, black hair, born Washington Co., TN. He survived the War, and was enumerated in the 1890 Civil War Veteran's census as living in Conklin, Washington Co., TN, with disability "disease of eyes". I am trying to find him in the 1850 census, and am having no luck so far. In 1860 he was age 23, living in Washington Co with wife Lucilla and son Claburn. In 1880 he was age 57, living in Washington Co. with wife Lucilla and son Clove (same as Claburn?), daughter Elizabeth, and son Edward. He died in late 1898/early 1899, since his widow Margaret L. applied for a pension March 29, 1899. Since there are over 30 different BROWN entries in the 1850 Washington Co., TN census, when I went looking through all of them my brain started turning to mush. I didn't find a good match, except possibly on p 155B or 180B (need to go back and look at those). I did find a DEADRICK BROWN in the 1850 Sullivan Co., TN census, but he was age 9 - too young. Here's a pedigree: Descendants of Deadrick S. Brown 1 Deadrick S. Brown b: Abt. 1835 in Washington Co., TN ... d: Bef. March 29, 1899 in TN . +Margaret L. Smith b: Bet. 1832 - 1843 in TN ..... m: September 09, 1855 in Washington Co., TN ...... 2 Clove Brown b: Abt. 1859 in TN ...... 2 Elizabeth Brown b: Abt. 1862 in TN ...... 2 Edward Brown b: Abt. 1874 in TN Any assistance in narrowing down this soldier would be appreciated. Thanks Jessie Blalock http://users.rootsweb.com/~tn4cav/index.html

Just found my JAMES BROWN and MARY MILLER in the 1850 and 1860 census in Ohio county VA which became Ohio county WV about 1863. Their children were all born in Ohio Co.: LEWIS CASS 1849, JOSEPH 1851, JAMES 1855, MARY J 1858. Between 1860-1870 they moved to Pike county Illinois where my ggrandfather, Lewis, lived until his death. The father, James, isn't listed in the 1870 census in Illinois, killed in the Civil War? Is anyone researching the Brown's in WV? Will share what I have. Joyce
