    1. [BROWN] Brown in Paxton ?
    2. Arline Larson
    3. Barbara: The only William Brown I find in Paxton around that time was William Brown, son of Nathaniel and Abigail Brown; b. 19 Nov. 1826. I am from Paxton, but my cousin, Fred Brown never lived there. I found his Browns went back and forth between NH and VT until his grandmother moved to Worcester with her children. Cousin Fred lives in Boylston, Worcester County,MA Evidently, Charles and William were very popular names with Brown families ! Fred's grandfather was Charles; grgrandfather was William and grgrgrandfather was Nathan. Fred's father was George, b. 1915 in NH. Researching Brown is as difficult for me as my Taylors and Jones. There are too many of them! Arline (Taylor) Larson Native of Paxton, Worcester County, MA: living in Florida arline7@bellsouth.net

    3. Eileen, Did you have a William Brown or a Charles Brown in your backgrounds? Both worked with the railroads at one time. William was killed at the Kellogg Toasted Corn Flake company in May 1910. His wife was Ida M. Brown, who died in 1946. Charles (born Franklin Co. NY State) was probably his father and he was from Port Huron, according to old papers in the family. Am looking to find this line. Any help appreciated. Happy Holidays to all! Barbara

    1. [BROWN] Brown Family of Paxton, Massachusetts
    2. B. Benware Burt
    3. Arline, When I saw Paxton MA, I could not help but respond to your letter, as I am looking for Brown descendants of a William Brown who lived at one time in Paxton, MA. He was born in 1827, a son of Captain William and Diadama (Wheeler) Brown. Wm. Jr. was married to a Harriet Bancroft and they had a son named Wesley E. Brown (who was a doctor). Wesley married Susie Hitchcock in Gilbertville, MA in 1880. As a matter of fact, I have a copy of Wesley and Susie's wedding announcement, as well as photos of all the people mentioned above. I cannot get back beyond Captain William (1784-1874) and Diadama (1793-1884); however, I've just come into a treasure trove of old Brown photos and am trying to identify the ones without ID's. If anyone connected to these Browns would contact me, I would be happy to share information and photos and hopefully ID ones that are to date nameless faces. Thank you. Barbara Benware Burt at bburt001@NYCAP.rr.com In the new year will post entire list of William and Diadama's children, as they had a large family with many of the children migrating to other places.

    1. [BROWN] Brown in VT and NH
    2. Arline Larson
    3. Hello Rooters: I am searching for my cousin's ancestors in VT and NH. It seems that his Brown family went back and forth (or forth and back) between those states. Nathan Brown, b. abt 1800 in VT, married Sabrina Dutton, b. 30 Sept 1800 in Waterford, VT. According to one of the census records, Nathan's parents were born in NH. ( I think I saw about 200 Brown families listed back then) On one of the VT census records with Nathan and Sabrina, I found Lucia Brown, b. abt 1828 and William H. Brown, b. abt 1840, living in Windsor, Windsor County, VT. I have been able to research forward from William, but not back beyond his parents. Can anyone help me with this family? It would make my Christmas very merry ! Arline (Taylor) Larson Native of Paxton, Worcester County, Mass; living in Florida arline7@bellsouth.net
