Looking for information on Leonard and Elizabeth Brown. Unknown who either parents are or unknown Elizabeth's maiden name. Both are listed in the Monroe Co., TN 1870 Census as: Leonard 40 TN Elizabeth 40 T Sarah 16 T John 10, T Also, Leonard and Elizabeth had another son named Emanuel b. 1856. He may have been working elsewhere at the time of this census since he would have been about 14 yrs old. Emanuel married Nancy Hazeltine Phillips who was the dau. of Lemual and Belle Griffith Phillips. Emanuel and Nancy migrated out west via OK and ended up in WA state. They also had Brown relatives in Arkansas but unknown who and where exactly. This info about relatives in Arkansas came from Emanuel's dau.'s childhood recollections that she had recorded. From these recollections, Emanuel and Family lived for a time in Pryor, OK. I have the descendants of Sarah and Emanuel but nothing further on John. Any info on this family would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Kris Beyer~ Idaho

Arline, I may have your Brown. I have Nathaniel b. 7 Aug 1801 to Absalom and Abigail BROWN in Strafford, Orange, VT. Nathaniel's sister, Lorenza, married my Asa FRINK of Hartford, Windsor. I believe Abigail was a BEAN. I have the other children as well all copied from Strafford town records. Since Windso and Orange share a border it is very likely that this is your Nathaniel. I have two of George W. and Rachel Brown's children. They are John Moultrie Brown b. 1874 and Kizzie b. 1879. I think some researcher have John M. listed as John Maudre Brown, but his youngest daughter is still alive and she told me in an interview it was John Moultie. I cannot locate the parents of John Brown SR. of Kesiah Spillers. If you ever come across this or any other information about them, let me know. I also have the children of John Moultrie Brown, if you are interested. Thanks a bunch.
I am searching for the parents of John Brown b. abt 1810 who married Keisiah Spillers b. abt 1820. Both resided in the Spartanburg or Greenville, SC area. They had a son George W. Brown in 1852. This is my brick wall. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Marilyn

Is this couple familiar to anyone? Unfortunately I don't know a whole lot about them other than they had a son named Frank on May 15, 1886. He died in Hickman, Kentucky (Fulton County) on Sept. 3, 1970 and is buried next to his wife, Dora. I would like to know if Frank had siblings or descendants, as he was Dora's third husband. the newspaper in Hickman says there is no death notice for him. He worked at one time for the Fletcher-Evers LBR company. (Probably in the 1940s) Sally
This is my first posting to the list so I'm hoping that someone out there has a match. I'm looking for any descendants of Cyrus Brown: 1870 Census, Michigan, Helena Township, County of Antrim gives the following information: Cyrus Brown, 52, (born 1818) Amanda 44, *(Amanda Glower, born 1826) Jefferson, 18 Geo, 15 Charles, 12 Harriet, 10 Carry, 8 Mary, 5 Frederick, 3 Nellie? 1 His daughter Ella (not listed on census), born 1947 married Ira Joseph White in Cadillac, Michigan in 1874. Cyrus may have owned the first plank house there. Ella's daughter was my great-grandmother. Thanks, Gayle
Wm Brown is 25 yrs old, widowed, a boatman by trade, living in the first ward of Albany in the 1850 federal census for NY. He is living with his 4 yr old daughter Mary, and 3 girls he and his wife "adopted", possibly all related and from Ireland. They are: Elizabeth Wilson, age 18; Mary A Miles, age 17; and Maria Bergen, aged 10. I am looking for information on or a connection tn William Brown, his deceased wife and/or anyone else listed in his household.
Hello everyone, I'm trying to find a hard connection between Mary Lester WATKINS (b. May 25, 1888 in Wesminister, SC; d. Apr 6, 1941 in Gainsville, GA) and Governor Joseph Emerson BROWN (b. Apr 15, 1821 in Long Creek, Pickens District, SC, and d. Nov 30, 1894 in Atlanta, Fulton Co, GA. He served as governor during the Civil War). Tradition says she is his niece. I appreciate any information you might share. Richard wesjon@juno.com
