I'd like to know how I can find more information about the Joseph E. Brown family. Joseph E. Brown was the governor of Georgia. Does anyone know anymore about members of his family and his progenitors? Sara
Mary has McClintock and Mackey (Macky) Brown lines; you can reach her at MaryHul@aol.com if researching the same. Thought I had seen some queries on this line. I continue to search for parents of James S. Brown b. 1785 in VA. Anyone researching in or near Rockbridge Co., VA in mid to late 1700s, please contact me at w4ctk@farmerstel.com. Thanks. Sorry, I am not in the lines which have been listed recently so am unable to help anyone at present. Lana Floyd DeKalb Alabama USA

Leather in plastic is really bad. Well anything is. they said on the TV about older clothing in collections that plastic over it was really bad there too. Leather need to have some oil on it. Neetsfoot or there are some other good types but some have a stain in them so you need to ck it out. I am not real sure on the books and have been wondering, myself, as I have a 1800 book that is leathe rand need to oil it. I heard on antique man say neetsfoot but just a little and to rub it in and off with a soft cloth, but want to recheck the info before I do anything. I had horses for yrs and the AC and heating do a lot of damage too. things can dry rot, if not oiled reg. I have some things put into boxes and sadly in a plastic bags, and just got back into them and found several things ruined in just a yr. I had oiled them and put into the baggies meaning to take them in to a show to sell. but a move came up, and now its been a yr. I know they have special oils for the leather furn. they sell so much now, and hve wondered if it might be better than the horse leather oils I have tried. Some of them have tallow in them and are really nasty. I don't like them at all. There is a product that I heard about on line that restores leather. It is suppose to be "the" thing to use. Even for clothing. I had kept the address and looked but can't find it, as I write this. SO IF anyone knows of it please list to group. I would like to get some at this point. There may be an article on Ancestry.com. I would ck it out to see first. There is a Bible with Brown Family records currently on eBay. The number is 557211787. These are not mine but could belong to someone on this list. Julie
Marcie has included 9 or 10 of the Brown wills I transcribed at the NC Archives this last October. Only one of these Browns is "my" Brown: Neill Brown died ca 1819. Of the others, I know very little, but I am pointing all of you Brown researchers to: NCGenWeb- Archives, to take a look and see if any could be a break through. Happy reading! And, I wish all of us very good luck. Barb Brown H

If all else fails, go to your previous posts on the forums and respond to your own post with a subject like "MY NEW EMAIL ADDRESS." A lot of people use a free web based email address like hotmail.com for their postings. You can access this email box regardless of your ISP. You can also check your Hotmail mailbox using Outlook Express. Even if you change your ISP, your email address on your posts remains valid. The only real monkey-wrench in this method is if Microsoft eventually decides to charge for Hotmail mail boxes. The other problem is if some disgusting people get hold of your address and fill your box porno crap. Hotmail finally created some user controls over these types of spammers. Gary

Once you find this go in and repost under each one that you have a new email address. There is no way for Genforum to actually go in and change your email address. This would be time consuming on their part when you have a million people posting almost daily. Anyways I hope this helps. This could very well be my ancestor, But the trouble is that each one of his sons named one of their sons William, and each one of them named one of their sons William, etc.,etc. In 1820 there were 25 William Browns listed on the TN census, and by 1830 there were 70 ....and less than a dozen had an initial for their middle name !!! With a pattern like they used , it makes it impossible to trace the Brown surname !! b.hootman@att.net wrote: > Hi, > > In researching my Browns, I ran across this entry.
