    3. I am searching for parents & or siblings of Andrew Jackson Brown. Born 1836 in Washington County, TN. Married Adeline (Ann E.) West same location 31 Jan. 1867. Census of 1870 finds them living in house with Addie's father, Joseph West in Jonesborough, Washington County, TN. They had two children by that time, William H age 2 & Sarah age 1. There is a David Brown, age 8 that appears in the household, working on farm. I don't know how he fits into the Brown family. Andrew is stated as age 32, and Addie at 23. Perhaps David is his son by a previous wife. (?) Both Andrew (d Jan. 1915), and Addie (d. 1926), are buried in the New Hope Cemetery, Azle, Parker County, TX. The town of Azle straddles the Parker-Tarrant County line. Does anyone connect? Jean Quinn TX

    1. [BROWN] GARTON/BROWN Connections
    2. William Gilbert
    3. Mike, Thank you so much for the list of Jack BROWN's children. That explains who Amanda Elizabeth BROWN was who married Malachi GARTON. Incidentally, I have her down as Malachi's (Maliki) second wife. Now, the question is who is Alex GARTON? I can't find him anywhere in my database. Can any of the GARTON researchers on the Zacharia branch help me out here? I'd like to get it straight for the record. The big question remains, are these BROWNs in Dickson Co., TN the same family as the John BROWN of Augusta Co., VA, who married Frances Dickinson GARTON (Elijah's widow), and whose son John BROWN Jr. went to Todd (Christian) Co., KY? I feel like I'm making some progress, especially since I discovered the connection of the GARTONs to my husband's GILBERTs in your line, but any help on this BROWN family from other BROWNs and GARTONs would be appreciated. Thanks again, Mike, for your help. Gail

I also notice that Griffith GARTON had a brother Maliki GARTON (1852-1936) Dickson Co., TN who m. 2) Amanda Elizabeth BROWN. Is she one of John "Squire" Brown's children also? Please do send me the list of siblings you mentioned and any more info you have on John "Squire" Brown also. I still need to explore if these Browns are of the same family as my John Brown who m. Frances Dickinson GARTON. Frances' first husband Elijah GARTON was a brother to Zacharia GARTON Sr., the third generation above. I welcome any more connections and leads from other researchers on the List. Gail
