Try to find a copy of the book "Log Cabin Families" by Royall Hardin. It is available in a lot of genealogy libraries. It documents the Browns and Sparks families of Wilkes County NC. Hi Dave, I read your BROWN Family Reunion notice with interest. How do your BROWN and GILLESPIE families tie together? Also where do they come from. The reason I am asking is that my direct BROWN line is from Abel BROWN who married Lydia STUCKEY. And several of his descendants married into the GILLESPIE. Abel came to Belmont co., Ohio around 1805 as he is listed in the tax list. He came from Maryland with he was born 1768.
