    2. Hello All, Just wanted to send a reminder so that you can mark your calendars. Hope that everyone had a SAFE Holiday Season. Not sure about everyone else, but I need to get outside and do some stomping around in some cemeteries. I've had enough of the cold and the snow for this year. Our ancestors used to have very large reunions in Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. From the time that David Hoover founded Richmond, Wayne Co., Indiana in 1806, his father Andrew Hoover along with other family members held very large family reunions. Now it is our turn. My sister Marcia and I are organizing the event. We have reserved a small building (with tables, chairs, and power) and a picnic pavilion, located in Glen Miller Park. Bring your laptops and exchange data with others. We will also have a computer, printer and scanner. Since we are opening this up to anyone, but in particular the following surnames: SLOAN, BROWN, HOOVER, DILL, GILLESPIE, MURPHY, DEARDORFF, CASKEY, and BUSH, we are hoping to have a good turn out. Their will be a "bring your own food" picnic at the pavilion. There is both a Meijer and Wal-Mart’s deli where picnic style food may be purchased. There is an outdoor grill pit and we will provide the charcoal. Paper ware, flatware, bottled water, pop and coffee will be provided. Please RSVP so that we have a headcount for planning purposes. 1. [BROWN] Martha Jane LOWELL m. Frank HATCH, 1872 (mother marries Samuel LITTLEFIELD)

    3. -----Original Message----- From: David Reed [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, January 04, 2007 1:35 PM To: '[email protected]'; '[email protected]'; '[email protected]'; '[email protected]' Subject: Martha Jane LOWELL m. Frank HATCH, 1872 (mother marries Samuel LITTLEFIELD) Hi All, I'm looking for information on the couple of Martha Jane LOWELL (of Ripley, Maine) and Frank HATCH (of Cambridge, Maine), married in 1872, in Cambridge, Maine. What I'm really trying to do is track down Frank HATCHs mother, Abigail Hatch. I've dead-ended on her everywhere (Yes, I've tried the HATCH and MAINE ROOTSWEB lists), and I thought perhaps since there were so many LOWELL families in Maine during that time, there might be records somewhere of Martha Jane LOWELL and somewhere in those records it might, just might, say what Abigail HATCHs maiden name was, or who her husband was. I know Abigail HATCH had three children, Frank, Fred, and and daughter (I forget her name right now), in 1850-1853, and that Abigail HATCH re-married, Samuel LITTLEFIELD, in August, 1856. In 1862, they had twin girls. My conclusion is that she must have been married, maiden name unknown, prior to 1850, to (given name unknown) HATCH, and had three children, Frank, Fred, and the little girl, right off the bat. And that the unknown husband must have died after the conception of the third child (1852) and prior to the re-marriage (1856). I found some information that seemed to say Abigail's maiden name may have been BRAWN, from Mercer, Maine, but that hasn't held up (but isn't completely disproven either). Thanks so much, -David

    3. My brother has submitted a sample to DNA for my William Brown line that came from New York to Ontario Canada. I am not real sure my William was born in New York though. He may have emigrated there from Mass, or Conn. It is just the first place we find the family. I would be interested to hear from Josie Grant to see if we have any names in common in our data base. 1. [BROWN] Edward Brown ca early 1800s
    2. Gregory Hernandez
    3. A Happy New Year to one and all. Another year has come and I still need to find the parents and siblings of Edward Brown, born early 1800s. Only info I have was from his marriage (1844), in it he stated that he was the son of the late Avery(?) and Mary Brown and that he was from TN. Unable to prove state. Unable to find parents and/or siblings. tia greg

    2. Diane, Did a brother, father or male cousin submit a DNA sample to the Family Tree DNA project? I have been corresponding with a gal, Josie Grant up in Ontario whose great grandfather, William Brown, born in NY but went to Canada. Her line is related to my line of Browns. I know we have corresponded with each other as I recognize the Caleb Brown you mentioned. Just wondering if these Browns were the same? Sonja

    2. Willow, we have corresponded before. I still believe our line connects with the Rev. William Brown line. Recently I came across two birth records that show two of our earlier Brown's being born in Leeds County even though the family lived in Lennox & Addington (Kingston Ontario area). Possibly they were visiting relatives??? There is a Caleb Brown who is buried in the Prescott area who is said to have been an older member of this Rev. William Brown line who was already married at the time the family came to Canada. I can't prove it though! How frustrating. I can't remember....was this family of the Methodist faith? or Quaker? If I can be of help, please let me know. I do have an Ancestry.ca membership and am close to the archives. 2. Carolyn Sue Howard
    3. To Laurie Ann Wells: Thank you so much for those Jacquie Lawson cards, both the Christmas and New Year's ones. They were great, and I love them. That was really special for you to send them to all of us! Happy New Year to you! Sue Howard P.S. If you have to pay for those cards (and I'm assuming you do), how do you go about paying for them - online or do they send you a bill? Just curious.
