I'm searching for information on William King BROWN and wife Vashti Woodcock PERHAM. William King BROWN was born 16 September 1859 in England. He married 16 September 1880 in England and died 1 June 1941 in Millington, Kendall county, Illinois. He's buried at Millington-Newark Cemetery in Kendall county. His wife was Vashti Woodcock PERHAM (I've also seen it spelled PARHAM, not sure which is correct). She was born 13 October 1859 in England and died 19 October 1937 in Millington, Kendall county, Illinois. She is also buried at Millington-Newark Cemetery. William & Vashti came to the United States in 1883 with their eldest son, Ernest William. I found them enumerated in the 1910 census for Kendall County, Illinois, but haven't been able to locate them in 1900. William's obituary indicated they lived in LaSalle county, Illinois for a time, but I've not found them there. Their son Ernest William was the only child born in England. The rest of their children were Florence, John, James, Bessie, Robert, Anna Marie and Gladys, all born in Illinois, most in Kendall county. Ernest William BROWN was born 8 January 1881 in Whatley, Frome, Somerset, England. He married Sadie Josephine GRAVELY on 2 March 1912 in Kendall County, Illinois. E.W. died 21 August 1970 in Sandwich, DeKalb county, Illinois. He & Sadie are both buried at Millington-Newark Cemetery in Kendall County. Their children were Julia Viola, Elenor Sidell, Mildred Janette, Nancy, Eloise Ann and Doris Mae. ---Juli Risener Morgan

I have a Thomas BROWN born 1800 in Burke County NC. We are sure that he had a first marriage but do not know to whom. He married as his second wife, Margaret Elizabeth HYATT. They married in 1846 in Burke Co. There is a record of a marriage in Burke County of Thomas BROWN and Christinah CRAIG in 1827. Thomas stated on the 1860 census for Cherokee County NC that he was born in Burke County. The family bible shows a Louise or Louisa BROWN. Her name is before the names of the children of Thomas BROWN and Margaret HYATT. I don't have the bible in front of me at the moment, but do know that Louise/Louisa was born before Thomas' second wife would have been 10 years old. The 1850 census for Cherokee County NC shows a Reuben Henry age 20 in the household of Thomas and Margaret. It isn't clear however if it is Reuben HENRY or Reuben Henry BROWN. Thomas was 23 years older than Margaret and would have been 46 when they married. If I could find information on the family of Thomas BROWN and Christina CRAIG, I could at least rule out Christinah as the first wife of my Thomas BROWN. I have been working on this Thomas BROWN for many years and can use all the help I can get. I am searching for the parents of John F. BROWN, b. Georgetown (DC) ca 1800, d. 1860 Georgetown. His second marriage was to Eliza S. (Susan E.) DAVIS GRAVES June 20, 1847. Their children were John F. BROWN (b. 15 Jun 1847) and his twin sister (I think), Annie S. BROWN. I believe my John F. BROWN is related to Alexander BROWN (b. MD or Georgetown ca 1788, d. 1870 DC) who was a shoemaker in Georgetown. I also believe he was related to George Washington BROWN (b. ca 1818 Georgetown, d. 1893) and possibly John Thomas BROWN b. ca 1838 MD, died after 1910 in Georgetown. Is anyone researching any of these families or other BROWN'S in Georgetown in the 1800's? Thanks. Carolyn ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
Hello All, Just wanted to send a reminder so that you can mark your calendars. Hope that everyone had a SAFE Holiday Season. Not sure about everyone else, but I need to get outside and do some stomping around in some cemeteries. I've had enough of the cold and the snow for this year. Our ancestors used to have very large reunions in Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. From the time that David Hoover founded Richmond, Wayne Co., Indiana in 1806, his father Andrew Hoover along with other family members held very large family reunions. Now it is our turn. My sister Marcia and I are organizing the event. We have reserved a small building (with tables, chairs, and power) and a picnic pavilion, located in Glen Miller Park. Bring your laptops and exchange data with others. We will also have a computer, printer and scanner. Since we are opening this up to anyone, but in particular the following surnames: SLOAN, BROWN, HOOVER, DILL, GILLESPIE, MURPHY, DEARDORFF, CASKEY, and BUSH, we are hoping to have a good turn out. Their will be a "bring your own food" picnic at the pavilion. There is both a Meijer and Wal-Mart’s deli where picnic style food may be purchased. There is an outdoor grill pit and we will provide the charcoal. Paper ware, flatware, bottled water, pop and coffee will be provided. Please RSVP so that we have a headcount for planning purposes. WHO: Anyone WHAT: Family Reunion – See names above. WHEN: 9 June 2007 9 AM to 4 PM WHERE: Glen Miller Park, Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana WHY: To have fun, meet cousins, and exchange genealogy information Need additional information or to RSVP please contact Dave Sloan [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) Home 719-391-0590. My greatgrandfather married Matilda Brown on Feb 19, 1846. She was born Sept 11, 1821 in PA. Her mother was Margaret Brown born 1795 in England. Margaret and family were listed in the 1850 census living in the Southwark district of Philadelphia. Family included Margaret's daughters Eliza, Elivna, Virginia, Fanny and her husband Joseph Shuster and their son William, Matilda and her husband Joseph Quinn and sons George W. Quinn and Robert. No husband to Margaret was listed altho on Matilda's internment record it lists her father as Andrew Jackson Quinn. Because that is obviously a typo I can only assume that the name should be Andrew Jackson Brown. My problem is that I can find no other information prior to 1850 and no info re: Andrew Jackson Brown. Any help out there? Any family? All input would be gratefully accepted. Bob Quinn

Hi, I would like to contact any relative of James Polley Brown. He submitted some records to LDS and I think we are related... I do not know if he is living or dead; but I am thinking he has probably died, since the records were submitted in 1936. Kathie -- M. Kathleen Felsted [email protected]
