The family story is that my great-grandmother was the illegitimate daughter of an unnamed Indian lady and a 'Lord Brougham.' As she was born in 1875 in India, the most likely contender seems to be Henry Charles Brougham, 3rd Baron Brougham and Vaux (1836 - 1927). Can anyone confirm he visited India?
