Rode with Garibaldi in Italy. Married Bridget Maher (1841 County Carlow- 1924 Bundarra Australia)in 1865 County Carlow and moved to Australia shortly after. Took up land in New England area of NSW. Called the property Shankil. I believe a relative, possibly brother Richard joined him in Bundarra. There is a story that Edward and bridget left Ireland after a cottage fire in which 3 children died, maybe theirs?
