In the list's early months, we made lots of matches -- but those tended to be the "easy" ones to identify. Many of the folks now (still) subscribed have much less to work with -- "He would have been born around 1800 somewhere in New York" -- and so our matchmaking rate has fallen alarmingly. But one "hit" more than makes up for many prior misses. For following on beyond Jacobus's scope of coverage, I'd look for Barbour records (for as long as the family remained in Connecticut). Unfortunately, there's no statewide analogue to Barbour for New York, and it's a much bigger and more populous state as well. Keep plugging! :-) Other subscribers should follow Marianne's example and re-post their brick walls every couple of months -- I try to enter new data on a daily basis myself, and there are always new subscribers as folks unsub and new ones take their place.
