Since we are all searching and perhaps for the same people or same family I shall pass on what I have thus far in hopes that someone may have a match. My Mom grew up in Brookline Mass, daughter of Henry Brooks b. 1883 in Redbanks, NJ, his Dad was a Henry W. Brooks who served to tours in the civil war with the NY State Malitia 13 reg., CO C. or G.,b. 1843. In the 1850 census I find him in NJ with many brothers/sisters. names are Mary, b. 1833 phebe,b 1835 John, b. 1837 David, b 1841 Henry, b. 1843--- great granddad Ellen, b. 1845 Jane, b 1847 Rueben 1850 4 months old Henry's Dad was Rueben who was born around 1798, Mother Catherine Ferman
