Dear Kathy and all, Thanks so much for the info! I knew there had to be something out there. I had read about a ferry on Long Island Sound, I think, named John Brooks and I figured it had to be related to the Norwalk line. I am still not able to prove who my ggg grandmother's father is, but I'm beginning to believe it might be Charles C., son of John (5f). I found his death certificate on my Norwalk reels at the FHL last Saturday. I believe Fanny M. (Brooks) Miller (born January, 1845) is his daughter, as shown on the 1880 census and she lived in Norwalk most of her life. But I haven't been able to connect her to any siblings.
