Eleazer/4 Brooks, in the Woburn line, had sons James (perhaps) and Jehiel. World Family Tree is the only source I've seen for James, which means that the information is probably unsourced and unreliable. (I have not checked in this case, expecting the worst.) WFT merely gives his name and a birthdate of 24 Sep 1726 at Killingly, CT. No such birth is found among the Killingly vital records indexed in the Barbour Collection. Jehiel was born 31 Jan 1738 at Killingly, per Barbour. He reportedly married Susanna Whitney, when and where unknown, as I haven't found the marriage record. They had six children of whom I'm aware: Daniel, Shadrach, James, Susanna, Hannah and Sarah. Shadrach definitely existed, and in his Revolutionary pension affidavit says he was born at Killingly. His siblings are variously reported to have been born at Sharon, CT and at New Marlborough, MA. Nothing is found in New Marlborough or Sharon vital records to confirm any of the births there. The family trees at the Tributaries web site to which Grace refers are NOT complete, as is explained on the entry page to the genealogies, and which I've explained over and over on this list. These website trees were never intended to contain more than the first four generations of a line. Five generations plus constitutes a book, for one thing. For another, since each generation doubles or triples the "resident population," and the time and headaches involved in uploading expansions and revisions, I'm trying to keep the site's size manageable. Several of the less prolific lines at the site do extend beyond four generations, because I had so little on them that I thought I might as well just upload everything and be done with it. (The Newport line is an example.) At the other end of the spectrum, the Woburn line of Henry Brooks and the Concord line of his cousin Capt. Thomas of Concord have only the first two generations uploaded to date. That particular omission is a function of available time, not intention. The more time I spend repeating myself, the less available to continue to expand the site. And to update the DNA testing information, and so on.
