I took a look at Brooks individuals in my own database with known events at Grafton, VT. One Nathan Brooks (parentage unknown) married Abigail Ross there 18 Apr 1799. Perhaps a brother of Rosanne? The 1790 census index is available for perusal at www.Tributaries.us. Assuming that Rosanne's father was in Windham County in 1790 -- likely, if she was married there in that year -- then the father might be any of 9 Brooks males recorded county-wide in that year's census: Aaron Jr., Asa, Cephas, David, Ebenezer, Ephraim, Jonathan, Lemuel, and Nathaniel. (The 10th head of household that year was Widow Brooks, probably the same who resided at Guilford.) I will run down what I know of these names to save you reinventing the research wheel. None of them was recorded at Grafton in 1790. AARON Jr. with wife Hannah was a founding member of the Congregational Church in Dummerston in 1779. Nothing more known. ASA was at Halifax, Windham, County, in 1790, but did not marry until 1787. CEPHAS was born 1755 at Northfield, MA. He did Revolutionary service in VT, and later lived at Hinsdale and Middlebury in Windham County, but did not apparently marry until after the war. There were four men named DAVID in Windham County in 1790. Of these, one fits your timeline and has an ancestral identity. He's David/5 Brooks in the Concord line, son Nathan Brooks/Susanna Bacon, b. 1743 at Harvard, Worcester, MA. According to an Ancestry.com marriage index, David married Ann Clark. (There's nothing in the Harvard VR.) Their son Nathan was reportedly (again Ancestry.com) born 1775 in VT. Father David did Revolutionary service, was at Chester, VT 1790. Children: four known sons. David reportedly went to Elgin County, Ontario after 1835. EBENEZER in 1790 lived in Johnson's Gore, but only married in 1785. Other Ebenezers in Windham County in 1790 were also too young to be Rosanne's father. EPHRAIM: I know of two men of this name associated with Windham County, but neither born before 1766. JONATHAN was at Guilford, 1790, household composition 1-0-1. LEMUEL/4 (Springfield line, s. of William Brooks and Esther Kibbe of Enfield, CT) was born at Enfield, 1747. Married (1) Kezia Haskill, with whom he had a son Lemuel, probably at Granville, MA, in 1775. Married (2), 1806, Esther Sprague, and had 10 children in all. Of Halifax, VT, 1790, and then settled at Marlborough. NATHANIEL/4 (Springfield line, s. of Nathaniel Brooks/Abigail Allen), was b. 1743 at Winchester, NH. Of Greenfield, MA, 1775, and of Hinsdale, VT in 1790. Later an early settler of Vernon, where he died. There was a Brooks household (headed by Adam, b. Canada) at Attica, Lapeer, MI in the 1870 census. Finally, after reading Dave's response, it appears your Rosanne may have been known (and might be searched for) by the diminutive Annie or even Anna.
