I am beginning to research the Brooks family of Kittery, Maine, for my daughter-in-law. I have basic information from the census, and from a family Bible. (Sources don't copy into this format, but what I have is documented.) My question is, who is Charles W., born about 1828, and married in 1852? >From the 1850 census of Eliot, York County, Maine, the most likely candidate is Charles W. 22, laborer, living with John H. Brooks 60, laborer, and Temperance Nelson 56. All born Maine. Can anyone confirm or deny? I do not have the Bible pages here; my daughter-in-law has them.
