    3. Probably irrelevant but thought I'd add that I have a Reuben Brooks, son of David and Elizabeth (Unknown) Brooks, born in Acton, Mass on 28 June 1752. Source is the Acton VR, published 1928 by NEHGS. Much earlier than your Reuben and in none of the places you're looking but could be a link.
