I obtained a moldy old book from eBay entitled "Emerson Family" by Benjamin Kendall Emerson, copyright 1900. On page 368 is the following: MARY OCTAVIA EMERSON, daughter of ANDREW LEONARD and MARY J. G. (Clapp) EMERSON, was born at Portland, Me., 12 March, 1830, and died at Stamford, Conn., 19 October, 1886. She married HORACE BROOKS, son of Captain WILLIAM SMITH BROOKS, born at West Cambridge, Mass., and died 13 August, 1878, at Brattleboro', Vt. They resided at New York City, N. Y. Children: i. MARY EMERSON, b. 31 August 1847; m. 1834 OSCAR VON FUNCKE...... ii. WILLIAM LEONARD, b 6 Nov., 1849 m. 18 Apr., 1882, KATH. S. HUNTINGTON..... iii. HORACE, b 10 Nov., 1852; d. 3 Jul., 1855 iv. ISABELLE, b. 30 Sep., 1856; m. 23 Aug., 1881, A. M. HURLBUTT, son of LEWIS R. HURLBUTT of Stamford, Conn.,......... v. GEORGE, b. 4 Mar., 1859; d. 30 Apr., 1867 vi. EMERSON, b. 19 Nov., 1860; m. 18 Apr., 1893, Alice M. Kunkel, dau. of John Atley Kunkel....... vii. CLARENCE W., b. 26 Nov., 1862; d. 5 Jul., 1883. viii. FRANCIS MARTIN, b. Aug., 1868; d. in infancy. Emerson was my great grandfather. I do have a little more info on the above listed people. My old moldy book mainly concerns the "Ipswitch" Emersons.
