Did you see, perhaps two weeks ago, the several posts from Cliff Williams? He has a Roswell who, with his brother Loomis, served in the army at the Buffalo (NY) Barracks from 1839-44. Other than that, I've only seen the given name Roswell once, as I also posted several weeks ago -- as the husband of a woman, b. 1818, buried (no date) at Dover, MA. From the given names, particularly Roswell and Abiram, I would guess this family is in one of the CT lines. I suspect Roswell and Loomis of Buffalo are too. I can't match up Noah exactly. I've got one born in 1781, but he's buried in Haddam Neck, CT, not western NY. The other possibility by date was born at Scituate, MA, lived in South Boston, and was a mariner who is well accounted for.
