FOR THE FAMILY We will be leaving Tampa mid of next week. We will park in Orange Park helping a member of Florida Camper on Mission with his computer before going on to Folkston for the family reunion. While we are in the Jacksonville area our time will be pressed, we will be visiting Uncle Oden in the nursing home and cousin Tommy that has cancer. For other family members who are not going to the reunion we are hoping you will visit us in Glynn's hay barn where we will be parked. You can see Becky from the road. We will be there about a week. You can leave a phone message on our 800 number. It is 1-800-462-8657 ext. 5012# FOR OUR FRIENDS AND PRAY PARTNERS We will be back in the Atlanta area within the next 2 weeks. We are leaving Tampa happy and with some sadness. We can see a lot of accomplishments as well as feeling we have just touched the surface. The Association has asked us to come back. They have been very good to us and words can not express the appreciation. We know that God will call us back before long. It is time for us to be planning our next assignment. The MSC State Director of California has asked us to considerate helping the San Diego Association for a couple of months. We ask you to be in prayer that HIS will be done. While we have been working with the Tampa Bay Association, we have done seminars, consulting, teaching, up grading and networking. We have been able to donate computers to a Korean and a Spanish Church as well as one to a Missionary. In our FL church we were in their Easter program, I took the blind man (Jack) to Jesus to be healed. Through the program there were some salvations and rededications made, AWESOME We also had a seminar and helped individuals with their computers at the FL COM State Rally and spent a week making new friends and renewing old friendships. Jack worked on the sound system for nearly a day so we could have enjoyable programs at night. We were glad to see Bob and Gladys, our deacon and wife from our GA church. We visited with them during their Sun and Fun Airplane Rally in Lakeland. Last Saturday they visited with us in Tampa. We have a different Baby. It is a white 97 Saturn station wagon. We aren't able to find a new Becky yet. We are about to decide that God wants us to just give this one a face lift. FOR MSC STAFF We made good use of the big sunglasses. On one sun visor there is a pair with a sign that says Broaden Jack's Vision, on the other it says Maggie's Vision. They have been a good conversational piece as well as a reminder for us each morning as we were leaving for the day. We do not remember when we signed up for our 2 weeks of slave labor. We would like to do it while we are in town during May. We will come into the office as soon as we get settled back at home. FOR EVERYONE Our new e-mail addresses are: [email protected] or [email protected] As soon as we get time we are cleaning out our e-mail address book and adding more people to our list of people that wants to hear from us periodical. If you get more than one copy please let us know. We always appreciate your prayers, please continue to remember us. In HIS Service Jack & Maggie
Persons researching the Brooks (or any other) genealogy, especially from New York State, would do well to use the on-line resources of Cornell University. Hundreds of directories, marriage records, etc. are searchable. http://cdl.library.cornell.edu/moa/moa_search.html

Forwarding this from CTMIDDLE-L, as Middlesex County includes a number of communities like Haddam which had a substantial Brooks presence. Jane Devlin's web pages (link below) are an exemplary resource for this county, and she's also got data for surrounding counties (including some for Bristol County, MA) there as well. Chris ================================= Date: Tue, 9 Apr 2002 22:31:22 -0400 From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: [CTMID] 1783 Revolutionary War Returns The 1783 Revolutionary War Returns for Middlesex Co. have just gone on line. I've extracted the Middlesex Co. men from LISTS & RETURNS OF CONNECTICUT MEN IN THE REVOLUTION, 1775 - 1783, Connecticut Historical Society, Hartford, 1909, and there are now four files on line, 1775, 1777-1779, 1781, & 1783. If anyone was lucky enough to have an ancestor who served on the FRIGATE TRUMBULL in 1783, there's a chance that you may find a physical description of him as the records give age, height, and coloring for the majority of the sailors. Good luck. Jane list mom http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jdevlin/

-------- Original Message -------- Subject: Milton Brooks?? Date: Tue, 09 Apr 2002 21:09:07 -0500 From: madlee <[email protected]> To: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> Chris, I was convinced that Milton Brooks b. 19 Dec 1794 and d. 21 Mar 1829 of consumption like his two brothers and was the son of Ammi (Loammi) Brooks and Lucy ??? was my ancestor. Then we find on the 1840 and 1850 Franklin Co. NY (Malone) census Our Milton with sons Perry , and all intact. I know these are our bunch because Perry Brook's wife's brother is living close by. Also living next door to Milton who is 50 on the 1850 census has a brother or son Ansel living next door. Hmmm??? Does anyone on the list know anything about these Brooks? Milton list's a son Harry b. 1840 and Harriet b. 1840 too. Ansel E. b. 1829 is married to a Martha b. 1832 with son Silvanus W. b. 1850. I sure need to know who the father of this Milton is. Thanks for any help you all can be. Madelon
