His parents are William Brogan and Bridget McGinty Brogan. John immigrated to the U.S. about 1870, and settled in Jessup, PA. He married Elizabeth (aka Bessie) Healy and they had 12 children: William, Bridget, Mary, Catherine, Margaret, James, Ellen, John, Patrick, Edward, Thomas, and Elizabeth. About 1889 John and his family moved to Yonkers, NY, where John died on July 23, 1891. John had a brother Edward, and likely had other siblings. Her parents were (?) a Charles Brogan and Bridget McGrory. She married a John Porter, and had at least 2 children, John Porter and Mary Porter (b 1838), both born in Ireland. Bridget ended up in Greenock Scotland, as did her daughter Mary, and grandson John (John's son). Mary married a Charles Boyle, her son John married a Martha Lawrie or Galbraith.
