After Advertisements no Bidders appearing for the Estate of William Shaw, Deceased, the servants were sold at private sale.. John Peter Holm, Richard Steuart, Henry Hall to Mathew Campbell; Mr Kirkpatrick, Stackhouse History of the Bible.. also books to Andrew Wales, Charles Turner (Edoiinburgh News Papers), John Brooks..other items to William Brown, Mrs Shaw, Thomas Moxley, Charles Broadwater, Jr., John Orr, Alexander Chisholm, John Graham (suit of Buff & blue Regementals), John Harper, John Lomax, Richard Arell, John Shaw..sale value recorded but not totalled.. Sale returned and ordered to be recorded *Dan & Norma please note = Thomas Moxley & John Lomax are our ancestors in our Cooper lineage. Will Book D, pp 17-20 Will of John Dalton. I John Dalton of the Town of Alexandria do make this my last will & testament.. give & bequeath to my daughter, Jenny Dalton, that part of my lots whereon I live. *note: I did not copy the rest. *note: Broadwater, Sebastian & Matney later related to Daltons. Many of these early records bear the signature of Charles Broadwater who was the Sheriff. Then a Charles B. was an attorney. Plus many bear the surnames of Dalton, Sebastian, Moxley & Lomax.
