Charles "BROADWATERS" appears on enumeration list of NEELLY's District, Botetourt Co., Va. in 1785 with six white persons and one dwelling house. On 1810 census for Botetourt Co., Charles BROADWATER appears with the following: 1 white male under 10, 1 wm 26-45, 1 wm 45 & over; 2 wf under 10, 2 wf 26-45, 1 wf 45 & over; 5 slaves. William had at least one brother and three sisters: John, b. 2/28/1788 Botetourt Co., VA; Martha, b. abt. 1782; Mary (Polly); Peggy. But judging from the census above, it is possible he may have had more siblings. William & John 1st appeared in Russell Co. VA in 1810, where 3 years later on Mar. 3, 1813 John married Winnie KILGORE, dau. of Robert KILGORE, Jr. & Jane PORTER. Martha BROADWATER m. I have been looking for Charles' parents for years and have found nothing concrete. Also I have not a clue as to Nancy's maiden name.
