Nancy, Who was he married to. There are numerous Charles Broadwaters & not all have the middle initial. Many came out of the VA/MD area. All those boundries changed at different times, plus by 1850 there was the Civil War, numerous floods, courthouses burning etc. etc. That's what makes the searches so difficult or else old paperwork is buried & not catelogued & towns want to throw this old documentation out; we don't have funds to deal with it, blah, blah, blah. If I can get a spouse or child then maybe we will have something to go on even if it's not recorded in SC or Bama. It's somewhere. I can search LDS files to my hearts content, if I have the time, just need other people to tie them in.
