Dear Dan, Regarding the activity on the list. How many people subscribe? If it is only a few, 500+ postings is quite a bit over the past year. If it is a large list different questions have to be asked? i.e.: is it part of a normal cycle when people get away from doing genealogy work or are concentrating on other lines? Are people getting results from their postings? If no results are being obtained perhaps they feel that the list is a dead end and go elsewhere. What is working really well for me and my primary list - Newberry-L, is that I have started a Newberry site on MyFamily.com for members of Newberry-L. One of the draw backs to the Surname-L@rootsweb.com is that you can't include attachments. With the volume that that server goes through it's a wise thing to do. However, on the MyFamily site, you can send email, upload pictures to share, upload GED files and have other postings. So, for the most part the Newberry Researchers have two avenues if they want to use both. They can use either one, or neither. Perhaps the Broadwater researchers with the Broadwater last name or others that are very active in researching the line could add an invitation to join their list as part of a "signature" on their normal emails. Another Avenue is adding a link to a Broadwater Web page via Cindi's list. Any hoo, I'm still interested in the list as I am hoping that someone, somewhere will have some information on Sena Broadwater, wife of Cyrus Newberry my 3g grandfather. They were married 6-19-1831 in Crawford, Co. MO. by W.E. Hawkins. JP. I believe her father may have been a William Broadwater but I'm not sure.
