Also, in a previous post I submitted, there was another Charles Broadwater on the 1790 census of Edgefield Co., SC with Scarborough. If they were related, I don't know. It showed Charles as having: 1 free white male 16 years & upward including heads of family 1 free white male under 16 4 free white females including heads of family It showed Scarborough as having: 1 free white male 16 years & upward including heads of family 3 free white males under 16 3 free white females including heads of family Five of Scarborough's children were born before the 1790 census. On the 1850 census of Edgefield Co., it showes a Charles Broadwater (23m) living in the same house as D.J. Gilchrist (25m). I don't know if he would be related to the Charles listed in the 1790 census. All the other Broadwaters I have listed on the 1850 census belong to the Scarborough family. Don't know if there were any others because I don't have a complete census for 1850.
