>From History of Fillmore Co, Minnesota, page 737 Robert & wife Rebecca (Ogg) Broadwater, both natives of MD, arrived Filmore Co, MN 1855 & settled in 1st Carimona for 2 years, then lived on their claim in Section 4 of Bristol township where they lived out their lives. They established the Church of the Brethern there. Robert d 26 Jun 1890 & Rebecca Jun 1907. Their 6 ch: Benjamin of Bristol twp Fillmore Co, MN; Joseph of North Dakota; Darius of Preston, MN; John W lives on family homestead; Elizabeth E m Henry W Bellingham of Bristol twp; Rebecca d in infancy. Darius Broadwater b 4 Jun 1851 Alleghany (now Garrett) Co, MD came to MN with parents in 1855. He bought an 80A farm in Section 9 Bristol twp which he later sold & bought 160A in Section 6 Bristol twp. He later bought 160A in Sec 7 same twp & farmed here until 1910. Son Frank W farmed the land in Section 6. His home was in town of Preston, MN after 1910 & son George A ran the farm in Section 7. Darius was a member of the German Baptist Brethern Church of Bristol his parents founded. He was supervisor of Preston & for over 30 years was school district clerk. Darius Broadwater married Mary J Drury 18 Jul 1882 . She b 29 Mar 1861 Bristol twp d/o George & Katherine (Pfemmer) Drury.
