    2. nancy b meaux
    3. I am researching the Broadwaters in South Carolina. My research starts with Scarborough Broadwater in Edgefield Co, SC probably in the late 1700's and early 1800's. He along with a Charles Broadwater was listed in the 1790 census of Edgefield Co. but where he originated from I don't know. Does anyone have a Scarborough in their tree? Any information will be appreciated. Thanks Nancy

    2. Jami, I visited the Scott Co, VA courthouse in 1990 & did some research on Broadwater & that is what I have been posting to the list. Alas it is limited as my focus of research was on Matney & Nickels surname. What I found has been posted to the List, but Dan can repost some. What I had was what was posted just the other day on John Broadwater family. There were cemetery records I believe were in another post. I'm going to be looking at the archives to see about reposting some about the Charles Broadwater family of Fairfax Co, VA & ties to Sebastian, Dalton & Mattingly. Looking forward to learning more about the Scott Co, VA Broadwaters. I have a hunch we are related. So far attempts to find someone there of the family doing research has not been fruitful. Many do live around Nickelsville in Scott Co. Carol in WA

    2. My vote is YEA.... I have been on vacation and have put off any more research until after I was back.. So, will be giving the go ahead to a researcher in Scott Co. to help sort out these early Broadwater lines. Perhaps if anyone has done any actual record search in Scott Co. they could post to the list what has been searched and what still needs to be searched. Regards Jami Hamilton in Sunny Guam

    2. I have just started on this line. I am looking for info on Amelia BROADWATER(s) who married Benjamin SEBASTIAN, Jr. Benjamin was born in VA in 1741 and died in KY in 1832, I assume she was roughly the same age. She is not in his will, so I assume she predeceased him. I have been told, with no documentation, that her father was Col. Charles BROADWATER(s). I have no places or dates on any of the Broadwaters. Any info on this line would be appreciated. Dwayne Holman
