Hi Carol, Many thanks for writing to me and giving the info you provided. You stated you need further information to check and see my relation to the family. Here is what I have: Charles M. Broadwater born October 10, 1827 in South Carolina; died in Russell County, AL October 5, 1884. married to Bunnetta B. Gray on October 12, 1854 Their children: John Henry Broadwater(my g-grandfather) b. 1854 d April 1910 Mollie Broadwater Burton B. Broadwater b. June 14, 1874 d. July 29, 1952 Daniel Broadwater The information on the descendants I have, if you need them, I will give you. My intent is finding Charles parents or other family members. A very nice lady named Nancy Meaux sent me information saying that a Charles Broadwater resided in Edgefield County, SC in 1850 and that he was 23 years of age, which would match up perfectly with my Charles date of birth. There was also a Charles Broadwater listed in the Edgefield census of 1790. A father or uncle perhaps? At the time of the 1850 census, this possible Charles was living with a D.J. Gilchrist in Edgefield. Any suggestions? Thank, Carol and hope to hear from you soon. Nancy Walsh

I think this is the Charles M. Broadwater I am looking for!!!! He was born in 1827, moved to Alabama where he is listed in the 1850 census for that state. Does the information you have list where in SC this was at? Nancy
Hello Carol, I am searching for ancestors of a Charles M. Broadwater. He was born October 10, 1827 in South Carolina and died in Russell County, Alabama on October 5, 1884. He married Bunnetta B. Gray in 1852 in Russell County. This ancestor has been my most elusive yet and I have been searching in the Edgefield, SC area, but have not located anything as of yet. Any help or suggestions would be great. Also, could you re-post the information on Cornelius Broadwater? I just signed on to RootsWeb on the 16th. Thanks Nancy
