-- You've heard it before, but since you asked, here it is again. This is a brick wall of some years' standing. Emma Broadwater born ca. 1856; died Dec. 1935, probably in Copiah Co., MS. She was married to Samuel Ervin who was born ca. 1849. I have no marriage or death dates for him but he is buried in Copiah Co., MS. They had a daughter, Cora Mae Ervin who was born 9 May 1893 in Centerville, Wilkinson Co., MS and died 14 August 1946 in Austin, Travis Co., TX. Cora Mae Ervin was the first wife of John Alexander Sunday. I would really like to know the parents of Emma Broadwater and Samuel Ervin. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Anna, ( shadow <shadow@socket.net> ) If what you are saying is true, then you may help me to solve a mystery that I've been trying to crack for years, so I REALLY hope that you are not mistaken! This is what I am talking about: You wrote in part: > I have a Charles Broadwater in Lincoln Co Mo, in 1836. > His daughter Mary Polly Broadwater married James Early in 1807 in Va. > They also were in Lincoln Co Mo in 1836. . . . Are you absolutely positive that this Charles Broadwater whom you found in Missouri is the SAME Charles whose daughter Polly married James Early in VA? (Botetourt Co.) Please let me know what evidence there is that this is the same Charles! Thank you! Thanks Carol..How about it Dan? Can you list the Charles' again? Nancy
Hi Anna, Great to hear from you. Are you related to the Charles Broadwater who lived in St Charles MO? I had a woman from Montana contact me previously about him. Aghhhh, so many Charles'. Most of the names you mention were repetitive down to the descendants. My Charles lived in Edgefield, SC, but left there and moved to AL around 1850. He was born 10/10/1827 and lived with a Gilchrist family. He just seems to have appeared from out of nowhere. I believe there were two Broadwaters' living in Edgefield at the time, but I cannot connect him to those two men. The brick wall looms taller and taller it seems. Good luck in your searching and let me know if you locate an ancestor or two. Nancy Broadwater Walsh
Well Nancy, Join the crowd. I, too, am searching Broadwater, and struck a knot. I have a Charles Broadwater in Lincoln Co Mo, in 1836. His daughter Mary Polly Broadwater married James Early in 1807 in Va. They also were in Lincoln Co Mo in 1836. I found a Charles Broadwater (b abt 1755) in Va in 1775 and 1785, who had sons James, and William, and daughters, Mary Polly, Nancy, Martha Patsy, Sally and Peggy. Are any of these names familiar to you? I would be happy to share what few names and dates I have with you if these are your line.
