I have been on the list for some time, but I must confess I have contributed nothing to date. To your list of localities in which descendants of Edward Broaddus live who are seriously interested in the Broaddus/Broadus line, you can add Ontario, Canada, where I live. I am aware of Edward's lineage being traced to the present day through all seven of his sons - Thomas, Richard (my ancestor), John, William, James, Shipley and Robert (or Robin). I would be interested in finding out what information others might have about the ancestry of Edward's first wife. I am indebted to Arthur B. Broaddus in California for information he supplied me suggesting that her full name was Dollwyddelan Gwynn. His source is a manuscript by Curtis and Vashti Evans, which says that a Baptist Minister, named Richard Broadess (sic) living in Thomasville, GA in 1852 left a mss. naming Robert as his father, Tabertha (Tutt) and Tomas Broadess, Sr. as his grandparents, and Dollwyddelan Gwynn and Edward Broadess as his great grandparents. Does anyone have any further confirmation of this? I'm also interested in knowing who plans to publish something on the family. Perhaps we could share information. Ed Broadus
