I'm a new subscriber, seeking information from anyone who can help. I'm trying to track my family roots on my father's side, obviously, and here's what I know: my father Joseph J. C. Broadhurst (b. 1894 Lowell, MA--d. 1938 Norwich CT); his father John Thomas Broadhurst (b. 1866 Sherbrooke, Canada--d. 1930 Norwich CT; his father James Broadhurst (b. circa 1839 in Ashby de la Zouch, midlands of England, came to Canada with British 17th Regiment as color sergeant, mustered out and stayed in Canada, d. June 3, 1898 Halifax, N.S.; that's where the trail ends, I know only that his father was native of Ashby de la Zouch, first name unknown, family records says he had a sister named Eldridge.... There are Canadian relatives, but I am the only surviving Broadhurst in this line and have no way to get other information.... Can anybody help fill in the pieces? Arthur G.
