My BROADHURST ancestors emigrated through Nova Scotia (Canada), 1859, through James Broadhurst, whose descendants lived in Canada and New England. None of these names register. My grandmother was a Broadhurst (Mary Helen or Nellie Helen....we knew her by Nellie). Her father was Noah Henry Broadhurst and her mother was Elizabeth Paine (Payne?) Broadhurst. We think Elizabeth had a sister named Ethel Payne North. Not sure how many children. Noah had a son named Sam from a previous marriage. We think he was married twice previously and one wife and children were drowned in a ship wreck on the way to the states. The children I know about were my grandmother, brothers Noah and George and sister Martha.
