Hi I am new to this mailing list. I would like to hear from anyone else who is researching the Broadhurst family in Philadelphia in the 1840's. I am looking specifically for information about the antecedants and descendants of John and Sarah (___) Broadhurst,who came from England in 1843 and 1842, respectively. Their known children were James, John, Elizabeth, Samuel, and George. John died in 1844 and Sarah in 1851. I believe that all of the family, except George, remained in the Philadelphia area. George moved to Maryland and married Eliza Ann Snowden; they were my husband's great grandparents. I have only first names of the wives of James and John. James married Harriet (possibly Fox) and John married Mary. Elizabeth may have married Samuel O' Neill. Samuel, a Civil War veteran, never married. Is this family connnected to the other Broadhursts in Philadelphia? Almost all of them were weavers. Is there a connection to the Boardman family?
