This may be too complex an enquiry, let's see! My great-aunt, Brenda Salaman, married Charles Sligs* Seligman [1873-1940], later FRS. He was son of Hermann Seligmann [1835-89], note the presence/absence of the double-n. My father worked in intelligence in WWII and for reasons that are not at all clear in 1941 flew to Istanbul via Portugal, west Africa, Sudan and Egypt. In the family photo album there is a photo of Adrian Seligman. There is a possible clandestine war link between my father and the latter [for the his 'Boy's Own' adventures see www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/1439346/Adrian-Seligman.html, which does not tell the half!], but my father was working in a very different part of the secret jungle so I can't help felling there is a personal rather than 'work' connection and wonder if there is a family link between 'Sligs' and Adrian out there. Seligman seems quite a rare Jewish name in the UK compared to the USA so I feel a link should be findable, but I have not, so it may be the link was just 'business' and it is true there are one or two photos in the album that probably should never have been taken!
