Hello Jackye and thanks for your help and ideas which are gratefully received. Although my Elizabeth had a total of eight children, five of which are showing with her on the 1841 census, they were all born between 1820 and 1836. So, this has ruled out any chance of finding a national record. Strangely, we have been unable to find the correct death certificate for her. We have some reason to believe she died around 1843 and she does not appear on the 1851 census where her husband is showing as a widower. There is a death record for a an Elizabeth Abrahams in 1850 but regret this is for her 3 month old niece named after her. Things are complicated because the family use two sir names (Abrams as well as Abrahams) and their Elizabeths are sometimes called Betsy. Thanks again for any assistance, Anthony Fielding.
