Thanks to those of you who emailed and jogged my poor coffee-soddled brain. This morning I found my way to the online database with the Leeds cemeteries database and - duh - realized that Malki was Milly (yes Jackye, I can hear your refrain - Jeremy, you're slipping!). STILL - and alas, her husband Philip is nowhere to be found though he did die in Leeds in 1926. I am hoping (with all my fingers and toes crossed) that there is a headstone floating aorund somewhere WITH Hebrew inscription which will tell me his father's name. Reason being that someone else has a tree on the big A site (I keep bumping into) and they go back another four generations, but I fail to see the connection they make between Philip and the father they claim.
