Dear Hazel, Linda and John et al, Thank you all for your help in trying to find information about my lost great uncle who was mentally handicapped. He never married, and after his mother Annie Richman died in 1935, he was moved to an 'institution' - that's what my cousin calls it. On the documents I received from Lithuania about Annie and her husband Yosel's children, there were 7 registered births. One child was called Ovsey b. 1876. According to one site, it says that this name means Yehoshua. I dont know what name that child would have been given in the UK and it is possible that this is Harry. Anyhow, if anyone has any information I would be grateful. Thanks. I think he probably grew up in the East End. I'm afraid beyond that I can be of no help as I cannot remember where in Fleet Street he worked and also he would be about 110 if still around now. My Dad's cousins whose friend he was had no children and so I cannot think of anyone obvious to ask.
