Dear Brian and listers, , I have a Singers prayer book given to Dove Martines by her freind Clara Davis. There was a marriage of Clara Davis to a Bittan. Do you know anything about her. I wonder if she was the same person as in my book and what her connection was to Dove and to Aaron Nunes Martines. I wonder if my list for Martins is the one Joan sent me years ago. It is dated 2003, and about 20 pages long but the first page is missing. They are the descendents of Jose Martin. Do you know who Aaron Nunes Martines's father Isaac was married to.(I found the extract from the ketuva in the Bevis Marks Ketuvot book) I didint manage toe extricate it. I am very fascinated by Dove Martines who must have been named after a grandmother, Dove (Palomba) Mizrahi who married a Rodrigues Ribeiro. I once found her living with a few other Martines ladies in a Sephardi almshouse. They were all embroideresses and I visualised them sitting sewing round the tea table when the man came to take down particulars for the census. i always try to put flesh on the facts. Hi Louise, Dove ( Palomba ) Mizrachi was married to Abraham Rodrigues De Rivera in 1712. they had 2 children Daniel and Issac. Isaac married Judith Pardo. Abraham was married 3 times in all, once to a woman called Sarah, and the 3rd marriage to a unknown De Lucena. Abraham had a sister who married Diego Jose Lopes, and they had 3 children: Moses b 1706 d 1767 Abraham b bet 1711 & 1714 d 1775 Elisabeth d 1755 All 3 married and had children Diego married a 2nd time to an unknown Lopez Hope thats of some help regards Josev
