Hi I am new to this list. I am looking for information on a Harris GALINSKY, a tailor's cutter, from Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK, for a friend, who is the daughter of Israel Galinsky below. I have two birth certificates ~ details of which are ~ Leah Galinsky born 15th July 1911, Leeds. Father Harris Galinsky; Mother Sarah (formerly Wolfson). Israel Galinsky born 6th May 1917, Leeds. Father Harris Galinsky; Mother Sarah (formerly Wolfson). I understand that Israel changed his name to Jack Graham shortly after his marriage to Rena Thompson in October 1938 in Leeds. I have not been able to find any marriage for Harris GALINSKY and Sarah (formerly WOLFSON). I do recognise that Sarah may have been previously married, therefore her surname at the time of her marriage to Harris Galinsky may not have been Wolfson. Hello Raymond, Welcome. Do you have an occupation for Harris GALINSKY? I have one in my database who might fit, but in 1891 he was married to Fanny. I also have a Sarah WOLFSON who might fit, but have no marriage for her. The problem is that both WOLFSON & GALINSKY can be spelled in a variety of ways. Do you know if Leah was the oldest child (I ask to try to narrow down the marriage date)? Of course, the obvious answer might be that they were not married in UK!
