No, "Lenie" was not a typo. I know she is "Lemie" in the Susser Archives, but throughout the Brown Family Papers (held at the University of Cape Town Libraries and donated in 1976 by Mrs. Janet McGregor nee Dick, 3rd great-granddaugther of Nathaniel Solomon and Phoebe de Metz) she is clearly called Lene and Lenie.
