Thanks to the quite extra-ordinary gifts of South African genealogist, Paul CHEIFITZ, the MICHAELS boys, Joseph & Jacob, fleeing from their Jewish heritage, have been rumbled. Joseph stayed Joseph, called himself MITCHELL on the Embarkation Formof SS ADRIATICA, married an Irishwoman called Helena with one son, setlted in Lyman, Essex County, MA. They both worked for G.E. His younger brother, born Jacob, became John Edward, also married Jenni, had 4 children (yet to be traced) He worked at Watertown Arsenal, nr. Boston. After 12 years of fruitless searching, I have scaled another BRICK WALL. Thank you Paul & thank you Genners. And thank you to the nameless subscription website, whose collection of Draft Cards, Censuses & Public Records found my family. Now to trace those children, who have NO idea they have Jewish blood.
