This is my first attempt at posting, so please forgive any errors. I have been researching my family history for a while now but have come to a full stop. The earliest record is of Peter Simon MYERS (later Philip) and Charlotte ISAACS marrying at the Great Synagogue, London in March 1838. Peter Simon MYERS (and his father Simon MYERS) state they are from Poland but where and when has so far evaded me. But sometime after his birth in 1817 and their marriage in March 1838. There is no trace of Simon MYERS in the census of 1841. As for Charlotte ISAACS, in the marriage certificate her father appears as Emanuel ISAACS. However, I can find no record of her birth in the Great Synagogue records but from the census believe it to be 1821. Therefore I have been unable to confirm which (of two possible Emanual ISAACS in the approximate time frame) is her father and therefore am unable to place her in a family. The MYERS were a family associated with the boot trade and moved to Leeds between 1838 and 1841, with a short spell back in London. Whilst I have traced the family forward, I am seeking information on both the MYERS and ISAACS families before their Marriage at the Great Synagogue, London in 1838. Any information or advice would be gratefully received. Angela Wilkinson OTLEY, ENGLAND
