Hi Debbie, just a suggestion, and probably a track you have already travelled, but between 1840 and 1845 looking just at the surname Philips born county of Carmarthen, there were only 4 male births registered. One was for a Philip PHILIPS reg June quarter 1844 at Llandilofawr Vol 26 page 571. Looking under PHILLIPS there were numerous entries but only 1 Philip PHILLIPS birth registered March quarter 1843 at Llanelly Vol 26 page 333. Could your Philip be one of these two??
