I am pleased to announce that thanks to the huge efforts of David Alexander we are now the proud hosts of two new databases: English-born Jews extracted from the Dutch Jewish website can be found at: http://www.british-jewry.org.uk/misc%20db.htm Jewish names extracted from the Old Bailey Trials 1674-1799 can be found onthe following page: http://www.british-jewry.org.uk/New%20Member%20Area/dbhome2.htm Enjoy! Best wishes Sherry
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!! This is a godsend. Even when I don't find "my names" I find the Old Bailey records helpful in establishing what Jewish life was like in that era. And I've gotten remarkably far with finding "my names." Also, I hope this will make people more familiar with these records--any time you discover a new street name, surname, etc--run it through the search function and you will often get a picture of your ancestor's neighbors, if not the actual ancestors.
