The tour is being given by the JEECS. http://www.jeecs.org.uk/ Saturday 13 September Opening of Velho and Sephardic Cemeteries and Guided Tours These old cemeteries will be open during the day from 10am until 4pm At 10.30am and 2.30pm there will be guided tours of the cemeteries by Clive Bettington, starting from the clock tower in front of Queens Building, Queen Mary University, Mile End Road E1. The Tour is Free. Contact: 07941 367 882; c.bettington@jeecs.org.uk The Jewish East End Celebration Society gives interesting walks & meetings & tries to preserve the now-frail Jewish fabric of the area where so many of our families lived & worked. May I mention that on Sunday, Sept 7th. the East End will honour the writer, Emanuel Litvinoff. There will be readings from Litvinoff’s works by Bernard Kops, Miriam Margolyes, Elaine Feinstein and Barry Davis.
