I don't necessarily think this is a "usual" Hebrew equivalent, but I can tell you that at least one member of my family changed his surname to "Harris" from the Hebrew name "KHARATZ" (usually spelled "Charatz" in the U.S., sometimes "Haratz" or "Harats"), a name that itself is almost surely an acronym of "Khoson Reb Zvi" (son-in-law of Reb Zvi, or possibly Reb Tzadik or a similar "Tz-" name). I believe that Jews are the only (or one of very few) cultural group(s) known to have created surnames out of acronyms. (Some famous rabbis have acronymic names, such as RAMBAM.)
