    3. Dear all, thank you for your finds - priceless! I must apol I made a typo error. Charles Solomon passed away in 1891. It was his father Samuel who passed away in 1873. sorry about that. Charles and his 2 sons who I've seen named as Frederick Charles Solomon and Edward/Teddy Solomon, were also comedians/musicians/composers. It seems the sons were more famous and more can be found about them than their father Charles. I've seen Wikipedia web pages all about Edward, and with a photo of him too! Thanks I just did a quick search for Solomon on YIVO institute in NYC, but nothing came up. But yes I will email them anyway, depending on what I see in the British Library & ohter local archives too. and again thank you, I will definitely check out The Era, nice one!! Just one more thing, while Edward & Fred's mother wasn't Jewish, it does look as if the paternal roots were Ashkenazi and not Sephardi, doesn't it? Betty - London
