    1. [BRITISH-JEWRY] Old Bailey transcript - Zyman Diamond witness for D Gordon in 1890
    2. Bryan Diamond
    3. Alerted by Carolyn's message on 16 May, I searched in the Old Bailey transcripts for my London ancestors: I found that my ggf Zyman Diamond [a wood turner/carver] was a defence witness in DAVIS GORDON, Deception > perjury, 20th October 1890. Reference Number: t18901020-791 There are just 3 lines of Zyman's evidence, he said he bought 5 benches from defendant. The proceedings seem complex and I do not understand what the various witnesses were demonstrating. Would anyone like to comment? I would like to know more re the defendant: a Davis Gordon was shown in the 1891 census in London City aged ca 30, he seems to fit, I will want to know his occupation, presumably in the furniture or similar trade if he is the defendant. As to other vwitnesses with unusual names eg Nathan Honigbaum, Louis Karlstein, Maurice Zlotnick, Marx Galinsky, they do not show in the census, had they all migrated by the census 6 months later?
