    3. I am trying to find information on a member of my Friedman family who went to Wales instead of Ohio with the rest of the family. I found his marriage listed on (the major paid site): England & Wales, FreeBMD Marriage Index: 1837-1983 Name: Elijah Marks Friedman Year of Registration: 1889 Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep District: Swansea County: Glamorgan, West Glamorgan Volume: 11a Page: 1201 How would I go about getting the actual document? And what information would it contain beyond what's listed in this index? Thank you. Sheri Prager Sebastopol, California

    3. Hi Sheri The marriage certificate will contain the names of the bride and groom, their addresses at the time of their marriage, their ages (though if over 21 will probably say 'of full age') and their occupations. It will also give you the names of their respective fathers and their occupations. As well as, of course, the place and date of the marriage. Copies of the original certificates can be bought on-line for £7, but maybe that is only for UK residents. If you would like me to purchase the certificate for you, please contact me off-line.
